Why not print off a copy of the Xemu leaflet and send it to the Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Director of your local Scientology Church or Dianetiics centre along with the following letter. --------------------------------- Dear Sir/Madam, I am a frequent user of the Internet and I am writing to alert you to the quantity of material that exists on the Internet that is hostile to the Scientology religion. I am sending you some of the more bizarre misinformation that exists there so that you will prepared for unusual questions from the public and possibly the press. I do not know what motivates these people to write such things. They may be religious bigots or perhaps they are repeating other peoples misinterpretation of the more advanced theology from within the Scientology religion. I have enclosed a leaflet that is freely available from the Internet and is all too typical of the sensationalist nonsense that abounds. It tells the story of a space alien galactic ruler named Xemu who transported aliens to this planet in DC-8 identical space-craft 75 million years ago, exterminated them with H-bombs, captured their souls, showed them films in huge cinemas with the end result that they now infest human bodies. This leaflet then claims that in Scientology you have to pay large sums of money to rid yourself of these souls of murdered space aliens. Now to you and I and any sensible person this is obvious nonsense. However there are many gullible people in the world who would believe this. The people who perpetrate this material are using the confidentiality of some parts of the Scientology religion as an opportunity to slur it and spread libelous rumours about it. I am sure you will agree, after reading this absurd leaflet, that this in no way describes the religion to which you belong. I know that people who work for the Church of Scientology are very dedicated people who are working towards the greater good of humanity and that there is no way they would be involved if the religion were as the leaflet describes. Also there is no way they would encourage people to enter the religion if the material in the leaflet were true. In fact they would be actively campaigning against it rather than working for it if this were the case. I am sure, as a member of staff, you would agree with those comments. I would also point out the lengths people go to in perpetrating these harmful hoaxes. You will even see what purports to be an extract from this story written in L. Ron Hubbard's handwriting. However this can be compared against other writing of his to verify whether it be true or not. I am sure handwritten pieces written by Mr Hubbard exist. Thank you for your time in reading this letter and considering this issue. I am glad to have been of service in bringing this to your attention. In ending I would like to bring to your attention a further point. And that is, very regrettably, that the leaflet has been very fully and carefully researched and is actually true. And that the extract of handwriting is genuine. That as members of staff this information is being withheld from you. That you are working hard for long hours for very little pay and for a religious movement that is not the one you thought you joined. I would point out also that in the course of your employment on staff you are receiving training for which you will be charged should you vacate your job before the end of your contract. In ending this letter I hope you will excuse the indirect approach I have had to use to bring this matter to your attention. Many people are being deceived and financially harmed daily by this immoral deception that labels itself a religion. I hope you will consider this material carefully and your own role as a member of staff. And I hope that you will be open and honest with the public concerning this issue when they show an interest in Dianetics or Scientology. Yours faithfully, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
