This remarkable collection of Winona Ryder's costumes belongs to one of our members, "Stephen Slater."  He has graciously allowed WRFP to display his collection.


From “Autumn in New York,” cream Ball Gown worn by Winona Ryder as "Charlotte." This long gown is the most memorable costume she wears and is the gown that "Will" (Richard Gere) has Charlotte wear to the ball. This luxurious custom-made gown is floor length and has a halter top with a drop bust line. It comes with off-white fabric shoes (Peter Fox).


From “Autumn in New York,” ensemble worn by Charlotte when she is sitting in the waiting room of the hospital waiting for Will. This outfit consists of a red/black/orange/purple geometric, open-weave silk scarf; white peasant-style top (Marikka Nakk); black/white hounds-tooth wool and silk floor-length skirt (Michelle Mason); and black open-weave tights with a purple hem.


From “Autumn in New York,” outfit worn by Charlotte as she is walking down a New York street on her way home. This outfit consists of a black wool/silk jacket with a hook and eye closure at neck (Dries Van Noten); black open-weaved hooded sweater with shiny threading, maroon open-weave skirt; a draw-string, black leather Mary Jane shoes (Heury Reguelin); nude camisole (Hanro); nude slip; and Victoria Secret 34C Brassiere.


From “Autumn in New York,” peignoir worn by Charlotte when she is talking on the telephone with Will for the first time. This is the scene when he asks her to make a hat for his date for the benefit ball.  The outfit consists of a cream cotton waffle-textured robe (no belt) and a white silk nightgown with a single stitch down the middle.


From “Autumn in New York,” outfit that Charlotte wears to Will's house in the rain to deliver the hat that she made the benefit ball.  Outfit consists of a frosted vinyl raincoat, lime green cashmere sweater with fringe (H. Huntsman & Sons); black wool-lined capri pants with a buckle at the waist (Prada); black leather ankle boots (Marc Jacobs) and black socks.


 

From “Autumn in New York,” outfit worn by Charlotte when she is ice skating with Will in Central Park.  This outfit consists of a dark pink cashmere cable-knit turtleneck sweater (WE); black wool capri pants (Prada); white angora mesh head-band, white beaded gloves; and black socks.


From “Autumn in New York,” hospital gown worn by Charlotte when she is hospitalized for her failing heart.


From “Autumn in New York,” outfit worn in the scene in the end of the film where Lisa is in a boat with her baby and her father Will. The dress is light blue with green/white/burgundy window pane design, empire waist and cut on a bias (Made by Catherine).

From “Autumn in New York,” white tennis shoes that were worn with the light blue dress (above) in the boat scene at the end of the film.

 

From “Autumn in New York,” Michael's - doorman at Will's apartment - padded uniform.  This outfit consists of a navy quilted vest with Will's apartment address "88 Greenwich" embroidered on the left breast; gray long sleeved shirt also with "88 Greenwich" embroidered on the left breast; and dark gray casual pants (Dockers).

From “Little Women,” Jo’s custom-made dark brown-green wool Civil War period "Traveling Dress" (PS) includes a full gathered skirt (23" w) with a sewn in 2-tone (pale blue-grey and tan) quilted slip and ruffled detail at the hem; and a long-sleeved double button top with tacked rolled cuffs.  The dress is extremely heavy with button, hook and snap closures.

 

From “Little Women,” the outer coat that went with the antique dress in the outdoor skating scene.

 From the 1995 Academy Awards ceremony, a heavily-beaded gown designed by Armani that Winona Ryder wore when accompanied by David Pirner.  The seller stated it had been altered to accommodate Ms. Ryder's full bust.

 

 

 

 

From the 1996 Academy Awards ceremony, a beaded, cream lace gown designed for Winona Ryder by Badgley Mischka.  Dress featured fine lace with intricate pearl beading around bust line and clear beading throughout.  It came with the silk chiffon wrap and matching lace handbag she wore that evening. Bust 34", waist 26", hips 36", length 56". Mint condition.
