The first Scientology ministers in NSW to be authorised as celebrants of marriages received notification of their registration as ministers of religion yesterday.
The Registrar-General, Mr J. H. Watson, authorised the appointment of two ministers of the Scientology Church of the New Faith as marriage celebrants.
The ministers are the Rev Peter Sparshott, the resident chaplain, and the Rev Frank Pickett.
Scientologists wishing to marry in their own church may now do so without the additional registry office ceremony.
