PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by Proclamation under section twenty-six of the Marriage Act 1961-1966 published in the Gazette on the fourth day of December, One thousand nine hundred and sixty-nine, certain religious bodies and religious organizations were declared to be recognized denominations for the purposes of that Act:

AND WHEREAS by Proclamation under the said section twenty-six published in the Gazette on the twenty-ninth day of April, One thousand and nine hundred and seventy-one a certain other religious body or organization was declared to be a recognized denomination for the purposes of that Act:

AND WHEREAS it is desirable to revoke those Proclamations and to make other provision in their stead:

NOW THEREFORE I, SIR PAUL MEERNAA CAEDWALLA HASLUCK, the Governor-General aforesaid, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby revoke those Proclamations and declare each of the religious bodies or religions organizations specified in the Schedule to this Proclamation to be a recognized denomination for the purposes of the Marriage Act 1961-1966.
